This week we are very excited about introducing the Porcelain Collection, the newest addition to our LED bulb assortment. Centered around four distinctive shapes, the matte porcelain series is all about character and charm.
We wanted to create a series of LED bulbs that are as characterful as they are calming. Their playfulness comes from their distinct shapes, each one a little daring and self assured. By looking beyond the exposed filament look through the use of matte porcelain glass, the bulbs softly blend into their environment, creating an ambient atmosphere.Their clean, minimalist design breaks up space and colour, working well with bolder backgrounds. In keeping with hygge vibes, the creamy casing of their delicate shells allow for a calm white light to be emitted, evoking feelings of serenity, warmth and comfort. Cue the pillows.
A light is something you switch on and off as you walk in and out of a room, but we feel it can go beyond this. The atmosphere it creates can inspire and move you. We wonder how these bulbs might make you feel, and if, like they have for us, they might change your perception of what lighting is all about!
Each bulb is hand blown to be uniquely shaped, before whizzing its way to the tinting factory. Their creamy signature look is created through a process called milking (we questioned it too, but really, it’s a thing) - which consists of a powder being sprayed onto the inside of the glass. After going through the standard manufacturing process, each bulb is then sand-blasted before heading to the maturation racks. Once deemed fit, they are sent out into the world, finally prepped for their debut.
From incorporating mirrors to plants and bulbs by the dozen, our designers have been working very hard to create our window installation at Heal’s for the launch - and we hope you get a chance to go and see it! Think floating planets on a velvet sky.
We are really excited about the new additions, mainly because the more beautiful bulbs we create - the more trees we can plant through our Ten Trees programme, making our planet greener every day. Happy days!
